Job Description:

The IT Infrastructure Lead will oversee the design, implementation, maintenance, and support of the organization’s IT infrastructure, including hardware, software, networks, servers, storage, and cloud services. This role ensures that these systems are reliable, secure, and high-performing to support business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Infrastructure Design and Planning:

  • Develop and maintain an IT infrastructure roadmap aligned with business needs and technology trends.
  • Design scalable and secure IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and infrastructure upgrades.

Infrastructure Implementation:

  • Lead the installation, configuration, and integration of hardware, software, and network components.
  • Oversee cloud-based solutions deployment and manage cloud resources.
  • Ensure seamless migration from legacy systems to new platforms.

Infrastructure Maintenance and Support:

  • Monitor and manage IT infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability.
  • Perform regular maintenance tasks, including patching, updates, backups, and disaster recovery.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues promptly.

Security and Compliance:

  • Implement security measures to protect IT infrastructure from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyberattacks.
  • Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal security policies.
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability assessments.

Team Management:

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of IT infrastructure professionals.
  • Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure timely project completion.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

Budgeting and Procurement:

  • Develop and manage the IT infrastructure budget.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers.
  • Recommend cost-effective infrastructure solutions.

Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of the IT infrastructure, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Prepare reports on infrastructure performance, capacity, and security for management review.

Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with external vendors and service providers.
  • Monitor vendor performance and ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Negotiate favorable terms and conditions for IT infrastructure services.

Education, Skills, and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in IT infrastructure management.
  • Proven track record of leading successful infrastructure projects.
  • Experience with cloud technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is highly desirable.
  • Industry certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect are a plus.
  • Strong technical knowledge of servers, networks, storage, and virtualization technologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
