Description: The Uganda National Roads Authority (UNRA) invites qualified consultants to submit proposals for the consultancy services for the construction supervision of the design and build of the Iganga-Bulopa-Kamuli (56.3km) road upgrading project. The selected consultant will be responsible for ensuring that the project meets all required standards and specifications, providing expert supervision throughout the construction process.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and supervise the construction activities for the Iganga-Bulopa-Kamuli road upgrading project.
- Ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and report on the progress of construction activities, including scheduling and budgeting.
- Provide technical guidance and support to the construction team.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
- Liaise with project stakeholders, including contractors, government officials, and community representatives.
- Review and approve construction materials, workmanship, and quality control measures.
- Prepare detailed project reports and documentation.
- Facilitate effective communication between all parties involved in the project.
- Ensure timely completion of the project within budget constraints.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in construction supervision, particularly in road construction and upgrading projects.
- Strong knowledge of engineering principles, construction methods, and project management practices.
- Familiarity with local and international construction standards and regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
- Professional certification in project management or civil engineering is an added advantage.
