Our client, a leading global supplier of laboratory equipment and process technology, is seeking a driven Sales Account Manager for their Kampala, Uganda office. This role involves managing and growing a portfolio of key accounts, building long-term strategic relationships, and promoting a wide range of equipment including magnetic stirrers, mixers, shakers, homogenizers, mills, rotary evaporators, calorimeters, and temperature control products such as circulators, baths, and chillers.
Responsibilities:
- Promote and advertise laboratory and analytical equipment directly to customers and end-users by contacting and visiting customers in the assigned territories.
- Increase sales volumes and achieve the yearly target.
- Expand the company’s market share in the assigned territories.
- Penetrate and develop new key accounts and maintain existing sales accounts.
- Prospect and develop new opportunities.
- Monitor the operation of agreements and contracts, including payment, delivery, and after-service.
- Collect customer needs and market information (e.g., competition activities).
- Report and maintain data in the CRM system.
- Maintain good customer relationships and introduce the company’s new promotion plans.
- Perform sales calls, presentations, and key account seminars to customers.
- Manage and coordinate tradeshows within the region and participate in them.
- Conduct sales analysis and submit weekly job reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum B.S./B.A. degree in a scientific discipline.
- Minimum 3 years of lab/process equipment sales experience.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication skills in English and local language.
- Skilled in Windows-based software (MS Word, Excel, Access, CRM, MRP software, PowerPoint, SAP).
- Background in analytical chemistry with a deep understanding of what they are selling is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to travel as required within the sales territory (Minimum Travel).
