Position: Strategic Partnerships Manager
Reporting to: Head Ecosystems & Partnerships
Location: Kampala
Job Purpose: The Strategic Partnerships Manager will scout, develop, and manage relationships with partners to enhance dfcu’s ambition of entering new business lines and strengthening its core business. This role involves cross-functional coordination, creative problem-solving, partnership development, and leading engagement, strategy, and negotiations with dfcu’s strategic partners.
Key Accountabilities:
- Lead sourcing, prioritization, and execution of strategic alliances and partnerships in line with dfcu’s goals.
- Craft impactful partnership strategies and execute deals to support dfcu’s growth ambitions.
- Develop business cases for partnership opportunities, including market forecasts, financial modeling, and synergy evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and execution of partnership deals.
- Manage partner and deal processes to achieve mutual business objectives.
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with key stakeholders and strategic partners.
- Address business risk management requirements in all stages of partnership engagement.
- Lead teams through complex relationship management with a clear vision and tight processes.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance and Accounting.
- 6-8 years of experience in influencing and managing partners and negotiating complex agreements.
- Proven experience in driving strategic commercial partnerships.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Expertise in negotiating and commercializing partnership contracts.
- Knowledge of licensing and intellectual property is a plus.
- Ambitious, resourceful, meticulous, and adaptable.
- Commercial-oriented with a focus on finding mega opportunities.
- Customer-focused and comfortable making decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Skilled in developing relationships and partnerships internally and externally.
- Effective problem-solving abilities with sound theoretical understanding.
- Able to facilitate change by questioning assumptions and challenging views.
- Decisive and confident in making decisions under pressure.
- A great listener and collaborator, continuously learning from teams and experts.
