Job Details:
Job Purpose:
Spear Motors Ltd, the general distributor for Mercedes Benz Group AG, Daimler Trucks AG, Stellantis, and Mazda Motor Corporation in Uganda, is seeking a highly experienced Sales Manager. The successful candidate will analyze current sales figures, develop effective sales techniques to boost performance, and hire and train talented sales staff. The ideal candidate should have at least 7 years of automotive experience and an impressive track record of closing and retaining customers.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Plan and undertake initiatives to increase market share in existing markets and maximize business development opportunities.
- Plan and undertake promotional initiatives to achieve revenue targets, profitability, and sales growth.
- Assist the Managing Director and Director Finance and Administration in collecting and analyzing sales statistics to determine the company’s sales growth.
- Ensure proper follow-up of all potential buyers by developing, implementing, and monitoring a prospecting and sales control system.
- Present and sell new vehicles to current and prospective clients, ensuring sales targets are achieved, tracking progress, and leading the team to exceed set sales quotas.
- Drive alignment by connecting sales functions to marketing, technical, supply chain, manufacturing, and other key business functions.
- Hire, train, coach, motivate, prepare sales commissions, monitor sales performance, and ensure sales staff understand and follow dealership policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and lead scheduled sales meetings.
- Maintain an accurate daily log that reflects all monthly vehicle sales.
- Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction to increase retention and referrals to drive repeat vehicle sales.
- Keep accurate records of existing and prospective customers within the CRM platform to effectively guide sales processes.
- Prepare and administer the annual operating budget for the sales department.
- Develop advertising campaigns and other promotions, and prepare sales proposals, presentations, and contracts.
- Review the inventory daily to ensure a proper mix of vehicle stock for maximum turn and efficiency.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor of Commerce Degree or BBA with a strong bias in marketing
- Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM) or Institute of Sales and Marketing Management (ISMM)
- 7+ years of experience in a sales role at a dealership
- Excellent knowledge of auto sales and marketing
- Excellent knowledge of manual and computerized sales systems
- Proficiency in computer use, including computerized sales software
- Proven experience in effective sales strategies and best practices
- Interpersonal, public relations, and communication skills
