Job Description:
Uganda Christian University (UCU) is offering a paid internship opportunity for a Procurement Intern at the Main Campus. This role is ideal for candidates passionate about procurement and logistics management, offering practical experience in a supportive educational environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Logistics Management with at least a 2:1 from Uganda Christian University.
- Proficiency in a computerized environment, including MS Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Internet use.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction with students, staff, and visitors.
- High integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Commitment to and practice of Christian values.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with users to ensure clear and detailed specifications.
- Stamp, scan, and capture received Procurement Requisition Forms (PRFs) into Excel & MIS.
- Prepare Requests for Quotations (RFQ) based on PRF specifications.
- Summarize received quotations for user recommendations and confirmation.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Receive documents from stores.
- Attach relevant supporting documents to invoices for payment checks.
- Deliver documents to user departments for Requests for Funds (RFFs).
- Prepare necessary reports.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
