Job Summary:
The Applications Developer will design, develop, test, and deploy new business applications, interfaces, services, utilities, and APIs. This role involves customizing and automating various business processes to meet the bank’s diverse needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and customize software solutions by analyzing information needs, system flow, data usage, and work processes while adhering to the software development lifecycle.
- Develop an interoperability framework between the Core Banking System and its interfacing applications for new integrations.
- Activate all functionalities within the Core Banking System to maximize business potential.
- Gather user requirements to develop automated solutions based on functional and business needs.
- Perform technical analysis, design, and documentation for new changes and projects.
- Investigate, analyze, and recommend technology improvements, upgrades, and modifications to management.
- Develop and direct software system testing, validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
- Update reference materials such as operating instructions, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments, and clear code.
- Undertake additional tasks as directed by management within the scope of the role.
- Collaborate with business partners to identify and maximize opportunities to use IT to improve product services and business processes.
Education:
- Recent graduate with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related numerical field.
- Ability to rewrite source code they did not originally develop to add or change functionality.
Skills and Competencies:
- Basic understanding of software development principles and practices.
- Familiarity with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Knowledge of C# programming language is essential.
- Knowledge of Java and HTML programming languages is an added advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of modern web development tools and frameworks such as Django, React, or Angular is an added advantage.
