Job Details:
ALIGHT (Formerly known as American Refugee Committee) is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Logistics Officer to join our team in Rwamwanja, Uganda. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing data, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring efficient stock movements within the warehouse.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Compute, record, and proofread data and other information, such as distribution and stock reports before dissemination.
  • Maintain and update filing, inventory, mailing, and database systems, either manually or using a computer, for all records and information related to the warehouse and stores.
  • Compile and disseminate distribution summary reports.
  • Record amounts of materials or items received, distributed, and returned to the warehouse.
  • Compile inventory balances and communicate them to the program team.
  • Routinely conduct spot checks on distributions.
  • Maintain records of all activities and processes pertaining to stock movements in the storehouse.
  • Prepare weekly stock in and out movement reports for core relief items.
  • Periodically carry out self-auditing to ensure correct records are kept, systems and procedures are followed, and reporting times are met using designed checklists and stipulated expiry/perishable dates.
  • Maintain and update an efficient information/record system for easy reference, including copies of all relevant documentation such as delivery notes, requisition notes, purchase orders, and shipment reports.
  • Prepare NFI (Non-Food Items) distribution and reconciliation reports at the end of every distribution cycle, clearly indicating quantities dispatched, issued to beneficiaries, returns, and losses.
  • Prepare and submit monthly stock movement reports.
  • Perform any other duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of a University degree in Logistics, Procurement, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in supply chain management with a good understanding of donor and INGO procedures.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Computer literacy with hands-on experience in MS Office programs, especially MS Excel.
  • A demonstrated ability to multi-task and process information into action to avoid delays in program activities.
