Job Details:

Mildmay Hospital Uganda (MHUg) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospital Director to provide overall coordination and strategic leadership. This role aims to transform the hospital into a profitable, renowned general hospital distinguished by excellent patient-centered care, expert medical care, and destination medicine.

Description:

The Hospital Director will contribute to the Mildmay Uganda Group’s agenda for sustainable community health transformation and ensure lasting impacts on the Group’s sustainability.

  1. Strategic Leadership
  2. Operational Management
  3. Financial Management, Compliance, and Risk Management
  4. Hospital Business Development
  5. Staff Leadership and Development
  6. Business Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagements

Qualifications:

  • Educational Background:
    • MBChB, plus a Master’s degree in a medical-related subject or a Master of Business Administration (MBA) in a related Health Business field.
    • Registered with the relevant professional body/council.
    • A qualification in Business Management is an added advantage.
  • Experience:
    • A total of 8 years of work experience, with at least 3 years in relevant senior management roles.
    • Proven track record in turning around underperforming healthcare facilities.
  • Skills:
    • Strong hospital business acumen with financial management skills.
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
    • In-depth knowledge of healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse groups, including medical professionals, staff, patients, and external stakeholders.
    • Experience working in developing countries.
