About The Role: As a Field Engineer, you will be instrumental in site surveys, installations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of solar-powered irrigation systems. You will collaborate closely with project teams and clients to ensure an enhanced customer experience. This role requires technical expertise in solar energy systems, irrigation technologies, and strong problem-solving skills to effectively address on-site challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
Site Management:
- Conduct site visits for pre-feasibility and feasibility information collection and analysis.
- Design irrigation systems tailored to client needs.
- Contact clients to schedule and install products within set timelines.
Installation & Maintenance:
- Lead and participate in the installation of solar panels, pumps, controllers, and associated irrigation equipment.
- Perform system commissioning, including testing, calibration, and component configuration for optimal performance.
- Conduct routine maintenance checks and inspections, addressing issues promptly.
- Report emerging issues during after-sales and coordinate with the after-sales department for quick resolution.
Technical Support:
- Diagnose and resolve technical problems with solar panels, pumps, sensors, and irrigation controls both remotely and on-site.
- Ensure installations meet company standards, industry regulations, and client requirements.
- Maintain accurate records of installations, maintenance activities, and site reports.
- Provide training to clients and end-users on system operation, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting techniques.
Collaboration & Optimization:
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations during all field activities.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to coordinate project schedules and optimize system performance.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and performance enhancement.
Project Management:
- Manage time effectively to ensure all projects are completed within set timelines.
- Mentor and train new engineers in the field.
- Complete a minimum of two technical tasks per day, with a turnaround time of under two days per job.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in agricultural equipment as an advantage.
- Over 2 years of experience with solar grid pump systems and irrigation systems management.
- Experience in installing drip irrigation systems is a plus.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, with strong execution skills, especially in installation and after-sales service.
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- In-depth knowledge of industry trends.
- Strong computer skills, including GSuite, Microsoft Office, and database management. Experience with CAD or other project design software is a plus.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proactive, collaborative, problem-solver with a “can-do” attitude.
