Position Overview: The Installation and Maintenance Manager will oversee all system installations and maintenance operations of small business solutions and solar water heater systems. This involves managing a team of installation and maintenance technicians, coordinating projects, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and optimizing operational efficiency. The Manager will report directly to the Director of Operations & IT and will play a key role in delivering high-quality solutions to customers while driving business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Develop and implement strategic plans for the installation and maintenance of systems to meet customer needs and business objectives.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of installation and maintenance coordinators and technicians.
- Assign tasks, set goals, provide guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship and achieve optimal performance while adhering to safety standards.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Encourage the team to constantly innovate and improve daily performances.
Installation and Maintenance Operations:
- Manage all aspects of installation projects, including planning, scheduling, resource allocation, and budget management, to ensure timely and successful project completion.
- Coordinate scheduling of installations, maintenance visits, and service calls to meet customer needs and deadlines.
- Utilize technical expertise in solar heater systems to oversee installation activities, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory management teams to ensure the availability of materials and equipment needed for installation and maintenance projects.
- Ensure all maintenance and installation activities are documented according to internal guidelines.
Quality Assurance:
- Implement quality control measures to ensure that installations and maintenance activities meet or exceed customer expectations.
- Conduct site inspections and audits to assess workmanship and adherence to quality standards.
- Implement corrective actions as necessary to address any deficiencies or areas for improvement.
- Ensure the implementation of internal policies and procedures on quality improvement.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, security, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Conduct regular safety training sessions and promote a culture of safety within the team.
- Investigate accidents or incidents and implement preventive measures to minimize future risks.
Customer Relations:
- Act as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries, escalations, and complaints related to installations and maintenance.
- Foster positive relationships with customers and address their concerns promptly and effectively.
- Work closely with sales and customer service teams to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and promote business.
Reporting and Analysis:
- Generate regular reports on installation and maintenance activities, including performance metrics, project status, and customer feedback.
- Analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of operational efficiency using internal tools.
- Regularly report on SBS sites and project progress.
- Use accurate data from internal tools such as Power Hub.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in renewable energy.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent technical knowledge of small business solutions and solar water heater systems.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations and standards related to installation and maintenance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work well under pressure.
