Job Summary
The study nurse provides operational support for Novel Optimal Diagnostics for Pediatric TB (NOD) study including but not limited to participant triage, sample collection, data quality control support to ensure high quality, effective and efficient productivity.
The NOD study is a prospective cohort study among children < 5 years of age in Uganda and Peru to evaluate a comprehensive array of non-sputum-based investigational assays for TB diagnosis in children under 5 years.
Overall Responsibilities
• Provide study information, obtain consent/assent for study enrolment from parents/caretakers of eligible participants in accordance with study protocol.
• Perform study participant triage, collect and record participant physical parameters in accordance with the study protocol/schedule of events.
• Collect relevant study participant samples in accordance with the study protocol/study schedule of events.
• Conduct quality control checks on study CRFs completed during participant study visits.
• Coordinate the referral and linkage to Baylor site the eligible participants identified in external facilities (i.e. KCCA facilities).
Required Qualification, Experience and Competencies:
• Diploma in Nursing or health related course.
• Other medical licensure or certification preferred (i.e. GCP/HSP certification).
• At least 2 years’ experience in clinical research (e.g. drug trials/PK related studies, observational studies).
• Experience in pediatric HIV care.
• 2 Years Relevant Experience
