Job Details:

Finance Trust Bank, licensed as a Tier 1 Commercial Bank on November 11, 2013, offers a variety of financial services to over 500,000 depositors and 37,000 borrowers through 35 branches nationwide. The bank provides savings, current accounts, loans, money transfer services, and bill payments, primarily targeting micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, salary earners, and youth.

We are looking for dynamic, self-motivated, and results-oriented professionals to join our team. We are currently seeking to fill the position of Software Developer at our Head Office.

Role of the Job: To design, develop, and maintain software applications and service integrations that enhance efficiency, user satisfaction, and overall experience by addressing challenges and fulfilling user and business requirements.

Key Result Areas:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain software applications tailored to Finance Trust Bank’s needs.
  2. Lead and execute API integration projects to streamline data flow and enhance interoperability.
  3. Collaborate with business analysts and end-users to translate requirements into technical specifications.
  4. Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code using industry best practices.
  5. Conduct thorough testing to ensure functionality, reliability, and security of applications and API integrations.
  6. Integrate software solutions with existing systems through collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  7. Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions.
  8. Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality.
  9. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects promptly.
  10. Contribute to documentation of software designs, coding standards, and deployment procedures.
  11. Ensure API integrations adhere to regulatory compliance and industry standards.
  12. Perform other duties as reasonably assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related numerical field.
  • Advanced experience with PostgreSQL or MySQL; Oracle, MS SQL Server, H2 SQL are highly desirable.
  • Robotics Process Automation (RPA) certification is advantageous.
  • Advanced knowledge of popular and stable open-source programming languages and models.
  • At least 2 years of experience building frontend and backend systems.
  • Experience in integration to SQL and NoSQL Databases and API development and consumption.
  • Proficiency in developing and troubleshooting complex software systems in Linux, Unix, and/or Windows environments.
  • Familiarity with security principles and best practices in software development.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience in designing and implementing API integrations.
  • Ability to work well as a team member.
  • Good report writing and communication skills.
  • Demonstrable skills in enterprise application integrations.
