Job Overview: The Senior Regional Grants Manager for PlayMatters is responsible for ensuring compliance and effective grants management within the consortium, supporting high-quality programming and service delivery. This role involves overseeing program implementation, grants management (including legal, monitoring, and reporting compliance), internal and external communication, and IRC partnership processes. The Senior Regional Grants Manager will collaborate with HQ, regional, and country-level staff across technical, financial, and project management departments to ensure compliant program delivery. They will support the Regional Senior Management Team (SMT) in achieving PlayMatters’ strategic goals by setting and monitoring financial and programmatic objectives, identifying risks, and managing donor and partner relationships.
Responsibilities:
- Provide technical leadership in accountability and anti-corruption activities.
- Oversee strategic planning and execution of initiatives to increase resources and enhance accountability institutions.
- Develop and implement formal incentives, sanctions, and standards to foster constructive norms and behaviors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders including NGOs, civil society, media, government, and donor programs.
- Manage internal reporting timelines and processes, ensuring high-quality, well-written reports.
- Lead the development and review of partnership agreements, annual planning documents, and financial management.
- Coordinate technical monitoring and evaluation, documentation of achievements, and capacity building within the consortium.
- Identify grant management risks and develop creative solutions.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Project Management, Business Administration, International Relations, Development Studies, Economics, or related field.
- At least 5-7 years of experience in program and grants management at an international NGO or similar organization.
- Exceptional organizational, writing, and editorial skills.
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage diverse teams, and develop positive relationships with remote staff.
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across multiple time zones and cultural contexts.
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, file sharing, and database software.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
- Experience in conflict and crisis settings and knowledge of humanitarian programming is preferred.
- Understanding of IRC grants systems and policies is a plus.
