Mission/Core Purpose of the Job:
The Senior Manager – Product Development is responsible for strategizing and overseeing the creation and launch of new products, enhancements to existing products & services, and solutions within the MTN Mobile Money ecosystem.
Responsibilities:
Main Job Functions:
- Identify new product enhancements across different segments to maintain MTN MoMo’s leadership in mobile application innovations.
- Research and leverage emerging technologies to improve high-volume product journeys and overall MoMo Products UI/UX.
- Assess demand feasibility and viability of new digital & smart Mobile Money Products for customers.
- Create user interface designs, code, and test mobile applications.
- Collaborate with design, development, and marketing teams to ensure the quality and usability of products & mobile applications.
- Align mobile applications with different segments to maximize MFS Products ARPUs.
- Analyze application performance metrics to identify improvement areas.
- Develop and maintain business-critical applications to meet current and future enterprise needs.
- Work closely with business & technology teams to troubleshoot digital & smart application issues.
- Manage Agile Projects delivery, supervision, and third-party MFS Products and Services providers.
- Monitor mobile applications & digital services’ performance and provide periodic reports/feedback.
- Collaborate with Go2Market teams to enhance usage for new and existing products.
- Play a key role in stakeholder management across cross-functional teams.
- Develop and present user requirement specifications, product roadmaps, business cases, and product positioning documents.
- Establish best practices and standards for mobile application development.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant post-graduate qualification is an advantage.
- Relevant certifications.
Knowledge & Training:
- Creative strategic thinker with a deep understanding of the Fintech industry.
- Proficiency in relevant technologies and product design and development methodologies.
- Adaptability to changing market conditions and customer needs.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
