Job Details:
Job Purpose: Reporting to the Head of Retail Products, the Products Officer Assets will manage the product lifecycle, innovation, and customer experience across lending products. The role involves identifying unmet customer needs, commercialization opportunities, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to design and deliver high-impact lending products. The officer will work with client-facing teams and marketing to increase product usage, monthly active users, and revenue, while growing the balance sheet and net income.
Location: Kampala
Key Accountabilities:
- Define compelling retail lending value propositions, including digital lending solutions, by understanding customer needs.
- Build and develop fintech relationships and strategic partnerships for innovation.
- Own and execute the product development lifecycle for traditional and digital lending products.
- Lead commercialization initiatives for digital lending solutions to drive product uptake and growth.
- Track product performance and leverage data and customer insights for growth opportunities.
- Address architectural and functional issues with cross-functional teams for project integration.
- Manage product pricing, profitability, and revenue to achieve financial objectives.
- Analyze and prepare reports on business performance, market trends, and competitive landscape.
- Prepare and present progress dashboards and product performance reports.
- Develop and implement marketing plans and sales initiatives for product penetration.
- Identify and execute automation and digitization initiatives for lending products to optimize income and efficiency.
- Develop processes to ensure seamless delivery of lending services.
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to traditional and digital lending products in conjunction with enabling units.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
- Good knowledge of product management and marketing principles.
- Product and financial training.
- 6-8 years of experience in banking and/or digital financial services, with at least 3 years in digital lending product management.
- Knowledge of product management principles, emerging technology, and big data platforms.
- Understanding of key business drivers and the ability to drive business output.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Advanced forecasting, pricing, and business modeling skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications, especially spreadsheets, databases, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Good interpersonal skills for team collaboration and implementation.
- Business and industrial awareness.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Solutions-oriented mindset.
