Job Details:

Job Purpose: The Procurement Officer will oversee the Purchasing and Payment functions in Uganda, ensuring compliance with DP DHL’s corporate policies.

Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure all purchasing and payments align with Corporate Procurement and Purchase to Pay policies.
• Oversee contracting guidelines for vendors within East Africa to improve working capital, EBIT, and service levels.
• Ensure supplier contracts comply with relevant regulations.
• Source new suppliers for out-of-scope GBS Procurement and assist with in-scope suppliers when GBS Procurement lacks capacity.
• Facilitate tender processes with GBS Procurement and line management.
• Establish and monitor service level agreements with preferred suppliers, ensuring ISO compliance for vendor management, risk management, and control.
• Ensure purchases are made with approved vendors and follow relevant rules when approved vendors are unavailable.
• Prepare monthly reports as required by the Financial Controller and Finance Manager.
• Address queries raised by Financial Controller and Finance Manager promptly.
• Manage key tactical projects and initiatives as directed by the Financial Manager.
• Maintain all documentation for legal, compliance, and audit purposes.

Qualifications, Experience & Attributes:

• 3+ years’ experience in procurement and supplies.
• Proven track record in Procurement Management and Accounts Payable.
• Commercial acumen.
• Bachelor’s degree in Procurement and Supply Chain or a related field.
• Professional qualification in Procurement and Supplies.
