Job Purpose:
Responsible for identifying new opportunities for developing marketable products and services from concept to distribution, meeting customer needs, and invigorating FTB’s current market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and thought leadership in the Bank’s product development strategy.
  • Identify customer segments with specific needs, creating personas, customer journeys, and attributes addressed with Bank products or features using data insights to recommend opportunities for business growth and process improvement.
  • Ensure quality and completeness of the finished product by applying best practices to acceptance testing and using product expertise to influence test cases.
  • Analyze market trends, develop sales, price, and profitability plans for new or conceptualized products in collaboration with business teams.
  • Recommend improvements for existing products and identify new opportunities to increase business growth and revenue.
  • Conduct research and evaluate market trends, legal/regulatory climate, and competitive products for enhancements, providing insights to inform the bank’s business.
  • Act as the center of knowledge for analytics related to the bank’s products, preparing monthly product performance reports for ALCO.
  • Serve as the Secretary to the Product Development Committee (PDC), supporting the chair with organizing meetings and submissions to Management ALCO.
  • Present new ideas to the PDC for consensus on product development and prepare all product papers for approval.
  • Validate commercial and go-to-market plans before implementation to ensure all key enablers support the initiative and the expected impact is realistic.
  • Manage product deployment plans and deliver new functionalities, tracking progress and addressing risks and interdependencies impacting business units and product streams.
  • Serve as the reference point for the Bank’s product pricing, presenting tariff reviews to PDC for consideration, ensuring timely implementation of change requests, and performing revenue assurance functions.
  • Identify opportunities for new revenue and cost reduction within the product stream for current and future considerations.
  • Develop new and innovative collaborative schemes with organizations and companies to cost-effectively and efficiently deliver the Bank’s products and services to targeted market/customer segments.

Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance and accounting, business administration, computer science, information technology, business computing, commerce, accounting, business statistics, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in driving innovation and change agendas in financial services.
  • Proficiency in linking and applying complex technologies to business strategies.
  • Knowledge of financial technology or banking products and product development trends.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a research/product development role in a regulated financial institution.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy, numerical skills, and statistical skills.
  • Team player with the ability to work under pressure and exercise excellent judgment.
  • Ability to build functional working relationships across the organization.
  • Takes clear accountability and focuses on delivering broader corporate goals.
  • Ability to demonstrate a positive image and uphold FTB values.
  • Must be a person of integrity.
