Job Purpose:
The Internal Audit Officer is responsible for assessing the adequacy and effectiveness of the bank’s systems on governance, risk management, and controls, contributing to the improvement of these systems at Finance Trust Bank.

Key Result Areas:

• Develop risk-based audit plans for assigned audit areas.
• Audit and prepare quality working papers for assigned areas in compliance with standards and policy.
• Prepare quality draft reports for review by the Internal Audit Supervisor.
• Ensure timely execution of assignments allocated by the Internal Audit Supervisor.
• Review Bank of Uganda monthly and weekly returns.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of the Internal Audit Department or other bank management.

Minimum Educational and Technical Competence Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting/Finance, or a related business field.
• Part professional qualifications like CIA, ACCA, CPA.
• At least two (2) years of working experience in general banking or credit in a commercial banking environment.
• Good knowledge of MS Office, related applications, and banking software.
• Demonstrated high integrity, independence, objectivity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
• Good analytical skills and attention to detail.
• High level of organization.
• Good report writing and presentation skills.
• Good personal presentation.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure.
• Willingness to travel upcountry frequently.
