Job Overview:
Quality Plastics Uganda Limited is seeking an experienced HR Officer to support our HR operations. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, high emotional intelligence, and proficiency in HR practices and procedures. This full-time, on-site role involves administrative HR support, recruitment, induction, managing HR software, attendance management, and data management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage talent acquisition and recruitment processes, including preparing job descriptions, advertising positions, and overseeing the employment process.
- Orient new employees and train existing staff.
- Monitor employee performance and organize annual performance reviews.
- Ensure employee organization and satisfaction in the workplace.
- Oversee the health and safety of employees.
- Implement systematic staff development procedures.
- Provide counseling on policies and procedures.
- Ensure accurate attendance tracking with the Biometric system and maintain data in HRIS.
- Administer payroll and benefits meticulously.
- Communicate with staff about performance-related issues.
- Maintain accurate records of employee information in both electronic and digital formats.
- Support employees in HR-related matters, such as leaves and compensation, and resolve any issues that arise.
- Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations.
- Execute disciplinary actions in accordance with company policy and labor law.
- Ensure documentation complies with ISO & FSSC requirements.
- Perform other HR-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in HR or a related field.
- High level of emotional intelligence and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.
- Understanding of Ugandan labor laws.
- Experience with HR software systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal forms, with proficiency in English and Luganda.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Team player with a positive and supportive attitude.
