Job Purpose Statement: The Branch Manager will lead and manage the branch and its agencies to ensure exceptional business growth, profitability, and customer experience. The role involves overseeing daily operations, maintaining high operational standards, and developing a motivated team.
Key Accountabilities (Duties and Responsibilities):
- Strategic Implementation: Develop and implement business strategies to increase new business and maximize existing client relationships.
- Performance Monitoring: Maintain accurate records of branch performance and report to the Regional Branch Manager and Business Heads.
- Risk Management: Manage branch portfolio risks in line with the bank’s portfolio appetite.
- Sales Initiatives: Collaborate with other business functions to optimize cross-selling opportunities.
- Customer Management: Manage borrowing and non-borrowing accounts to enhance loyalty and business growth.
- Product Development: Conduct product reviews and gather market feedback for continuous improvement.
- Market Intelligence: Conduct market intelligence to identify new markets, customer trends, and regulatory changes.
- Operational Efficiency: Ensure all branch controls, security, and processes are adhered to, and coordinate branch operations.
- Compliance: Ensure adherence to all KYC & AML processes and compliance with operations risk requirements.
- Cost Management: Review service provider quotations and manage branch costs effectively.
- Customer Service: Gather customer feedback and address complaints promptly, ensuring high service standards.
- Team Leadership: Provide clear direction and leadership to branch staff, ensuring alignment with NCBA’s objectives.
- Marketing: Collaborate with Marketing and Communications on branch branding and promotional activities.
- Team Development: Build and develop a high-performing team, provide training, and manage performance and disciplinary issues.
Ideal Job Specifications:
Academic:
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field – Upper second or GPA 3.0.
- Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
Professional:
- CPA, CPB, CFA, etc.
- Proficiency in computer use, including MS Office tools and banking systems.
Desired Work Experience:
- Minimum 6 years of experience in a banking environment, with exposure to Branch Operations, Credit Management, and Business Development.
- At least 4 years in a management role, including 2 years in branch operations and 2 years in business development.
- Proven track record of consistently exceeding set targets.
- Excellent leadership and bank product knowledge.
