Job Summary:
Join our Corporate Team as an Associate Relationship Manager, focusing on developing and maintaining relationships with a portfolio of corporate customers and connected personal customers. Serve as the primary point of contact for customers on relationship issues, ensuring high-quality service and achievement of sales and income targets.
Job Description:
Sales and Relationship Management – 50%
- Maintain Relationship Plans for all assigned customers to prioritize contact.
- Drive utilization of approved facilities for clients.
- Ensure client relationships have the required ancillary business as per facility terms.
- Resolve customer complaints effectively.
- Track utility payments on behalf of the RM for the assigned portfolio.
- Serve as the principal point of contact for day-to-day relationship issues.
- Proactively manage customer service and satisfaction levels.
- Conduct research to identify potential new customers and maintain a database.
- Develop and maintain contacts with specialists in other branch sectors and Group areas.
- Monitor leads and coordinate information for the Relationship Manager on the overall portfolio.
Portfolio Maintenance – 30%
- Act as liaison for risk management information purposes with relevant stakeholders.
- Collate and analyze customer financial information to identify key issues.
- Assist with the creation of Credit Applications.
- Prepare facility letters and coordinate the execution of documentation and drawdown of facilities.
- Provide technical input and research for Relationship Manager regarding security preparations.
- Attend Relationship Team meetings and contribute fully, including service improvement suggestions.
- Ensure updated valuation reports and insurance for client facilities are in place before expiry.
- Follow up on loan facility drawdowns to ensure timely execution.
Risk, Governance & Control – 15%
- Collaborate with Relationship Managers to ensure compliance with KYC and control requirements.
- Review risk reports and provide feedback on required actions.
- Ensure compliance with Corporate Banking policies and procedures.
- Ensure no overdue CDDs.
- Work with the KYC documentation team to ensure timely account openings.
- Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework, and internal Absa Policies.
- Identify, manage, and mitigate relevant risks and risk events.
Contribution to the Team – 5%
- Deputize for the Relationship Manager when required.
- Provide leave cover for RM and fellow ARMs as needed.

- Higher Diplomas: Business, Commerce, and Management Studies (Required)
