Job Details:

Activities: The position holder is responsible for:

  • Supporting the Industrial Area Superintendent South on-site, ensuring that the Contractor is fully aware of all Company and Project Electrical and Instrumentation-related standards and procedures.
  • Overseeing Electrical and Instrumentation discipline works performed by Contractors/Sub-contractors with reference to Quality Assurance and Control, ensuring conformity to Detailed Engineering design and specifications.
  • Reviewing the ICAPS status index related to the discipline in collaboration with the construction and commissioning teams, including the ICAPS coordinator.
  • Verifying that check and test sheets are properly populated into ICAPS, performing gap analysis between MDR mechanical completion system and the Company’s mechanical completion system ICAPS to highlight any deviation to the GS EP EXP 101, 103, and 105 as per contract.
  • Ensuring adequate execution to meet mechanical completion objectives in line with the sub-system delivery skyline to avoid any delay or impact on the Ready for Commissioning skyline.
  • Highlighting potential inconsistencies between pre-commissioning and commissioning sequences to the Industrial Area Superintendent.
  • Overseeing Contractors/Sub-contractors performing installation, testing, and calibration of newly deployed electrical and Instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Witnessing and participating in Vendor site activities as required.
  • Monitoring preservation activities in the discipline and reporting deficiencies from the Contractor for preservation activities.
  • Ensuring that Contractor/Sub-contractor employees strictly adhere to the latest Approved for Construction (AFC) project drawings, specifications, Procedures, and Site Instructions at the site.
  • Reviewing and approving “As Built” & “As Installed” drawings and all changes created within construction activities in line with approved procedures.
  • Checking the engineering documents in the discipline prepared by the contractor and providing timely comments and/or approval according to contract procedures and requirements.
  • Participating in technical reviews as required.
  • Ensuring all risks are well anticipated and minimized by the contractor.
  • Interfacing with QA/QC personnel to address quality issues/progress.
  • Identifying and analyzing weak points penalizing productivity and proposing corrective actions.
  • Advising the IA Superintendent on issues related to sequencing and scheduling of work fronts.
  • Assisting in the resolution of all Technical Queries.
  • Maintaining good relationships with Contractors, being flexible yet strict to achieve project objectives.
  • Liaising with other disciplines as required to improve team effectiveness and achieve project objectives.
  • Keeping the IA Superintendent informed of all events affecting project goals.
  • Ensuring electrical and Instrumentation works and punch lists are properly integrated within the mechanical completion master punch list.
  • Complying with HSE instructions, rules, and procedures, ensuring compliance with HSE contractual clauses and other governing documents.
  • Ensuring personnel safety, applicable permits/LOTO, and control measures are in place prior to activities.
  • Assisting the COMPANY Team in ensuring compliance with project safety objectives throughout the project’s life.
  • Ensuring environmental protection and monitoring project environmental performance.
  • Participating in weekly, monthly, and ad-hoc meetings as required.
  • Preparing daily and weekly reports in the discipline.
  • Preparing final documentation in the discipline.
  • Organizing efficient communication with the back-to-back replacement.

Qualifications/Experience Required:

  • Qualification: HNC or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Oil and Gas and Petrochemical industry with recognized expertise in construction discipline and knowledge of ASME and other international codes and standards.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in E&I Pre-commissioning activities.
    • General awareness of the Company’s General Specifications and/or previous experience with other major IOC’s/Contractors in oil and gas construction projects.
    • Ideal candidate should be fully conversant with applicable Oil and Gas Industry International Codes, Standards, and best Industry Practices.
    • Valid authorized person / HV voltage preferred.
    • Valid Compex training is a plus.
    • A good awareness of other disciplines and significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams or projects.
