Serving over 36,000 clients in 17 districts of the Mid-Western and Central regions of Uganda, ENCOT Microfinance Limited (ENCOT) is a social impact, fast-growing, and innovative MFI operating a network of 10 branches including Hoima, Masindi, Kigumba, Kagadi, Nakasongola, Kawempe, Luweero, Bweyale, Katikara, and Karuguuza. ENCOT’s mission is to provide microfinance services to low-income smallholder farmer communities, especially women, enabling them to create their own paths out of poverty through job creation. ENCOT is seeking dynamic, self-motivated, and result-oriented professionals to fill the following position urgently:
Position: Partnership and Development Officer
Purpose:
The Partnerships & Resource Mobilization Officer is responsible for mobilizing and supporting ENCOT leadership in identifying, capturing, and developing funding opportunities. The role involves ensuring effective strategic partnerships and donor relationships, developing a responsive resource mobilization team, and fostering cross-functional participation in resource mobilization from internal and external sources.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue, and negotiate strategic partnership opportunities that align with ENCOT’s objectives, sharing information with the Business Development Manager and Finance & Administration Manager.
- Assist with funding proposal writing processes, including writing project and budget plan proposals and coordinating with stakeholders for joint submissions.
- Develop a fund generation and resource mobilization work plan, and follow up on its implementation, including designing and writing materials for communication with prospective donors and agencies.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company’s products/services to effectively communicate value propositions to partners.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategic plans and initiatives to drive partnership success.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential partnership opportunities and threats.
- Track and report on key metrics, evaluate partnership effectiveness, and recommend improvements or changes as necessary.
- Stay updated with industry developments and emerging technologies to identify new partnership opportunities.
- Mobilize non-financial resources from private sector entities, individuals, and corporate agencies.
- Coordinate processing of agreements related to funding opportunities and ensure effective and timely follow-up, including submission of reports to donors and grant renewal proposals.
- Undertake other relevant activities as assigned by the Business Development Manager and Finance & Administration Manager.
Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in a relevant field.
- At least one year of relevant hands-on experience in a similar field.
- Excellent time management.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to creatively solve problems.
- Good analytical skills in developing and implementing resource mobilization strategies.
- Ability to work effectively in teams.
- Ability to prioritize workload and demonstrate deliverables/outcomes.

- Computer literacy and ability to effectively use various software.
