Key Duties & Responsibilities: Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Promote the use of modern farming practices and techniques through training, advising farmers, farm visits, and demonstrations to transform targeted families from subsistence to commercial farmers.
- Identify project beneficiaries in collaboration with local structures and in accordance with laid-down guidelines/rules and timeframe.
- Ensure smallholder farmers’ groups are mobilized, organized, and strengthened into strong business groups for bulk purchase of inputs, value addition, bulking, and collective marketing of produce.
- Develop the farmers’ capacity to improve production and productivity of selected enterprises of desired quality.
- Coordinate project activities with OPM, UNHCR, government extension agents, and other partners at the community level.
- Carry out monitoring visits to verify information provided by Community-Based Facilitators.
- In liaison with the Livelihoods Officer, prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual work plans and reports.
- Support M&E teams in data collection and updating group information and their achievements.
- Manage and mentor Livelihoods volunteers under his/her supervision.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements:
- University Degree in Agriculture or Agribusiness from a recognized institution/Diploma in sustainable agriculture.
- A minimum of 2 years’ work experience implementing agro-based and social business livelihoods.
- Experience in entrepreneurship, VSLA, and agribusiness.
- Knowledge of farmer field school approach and climate-smart agriculture.
- Experience in writing reports.
- Must be fluent in written and spoken English.
- Motorbike riding experience with a valid riding license.
- Knowledge of Kiswahili, the local language of the population, and Kinyarwanda is an added advantage.

- Willingness to travel throughout communities and work in a participatory manner with a variety of populations.
