Role Description:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Learning and Knowledge Management Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Program Learning and Development (L&D) Manager, the coordinator will collaborate with teams across Uganda to support the development of learning tools and programs that empower staff to achieve organizational goals. The role involves documenting program strategies, supporting the testing of new approaches, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Knowledge Sharing and Learning and Development:
- Develop training materials and initiatives to mobilize program and competency-based knowledge.
- Design and implement scalable learning resources and programs.
- Apply various training methodologies to ensure staff understand and retain key concepts.
- Align learning initiatives with the organization’s strategy and M&E frameworks.
- Coordinate and facilitate knowledge-sharing activities such as webinars and workshops.
- Promote continuous learning and knowledge sharing across teams and departments.
Knowledge Capture and Generation:
- Collaborate with internal experts to document programmatic knowledge and best practices.
- Support the design and testing of new ideas to generate greater knowledge.
- Develop templates, guidelines, and standards for knowledge documentation.
- Collect and synthesize data, creating accessible content for various stakeholders.
- Develop training outputs and materials for staff, partners, funders, and public communications.
Knowledge Access and Retrieval:
- Support the implementation and administration of Learning Management Systems.
- Improve accessibility of learning resources.
- Develop scalable tools and systems for effective knowledge retrieval.
- Monitor user feedback to improve knowledge access and retrieval processes.
Knowledge Management Evaluation and Improvement:
- Conduct evaluations to measure the effectiveness and impact of learning initiatives.
- Recommend enhancements to knowledge management systems and processes.
- Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in talent development and knowledge management.
Key Requirements:
Required Skills and Expertise:
- Strong understanding of project management, M&E frameworks, and data collection.
- Experience in designing and delivering program/technical trainings.
- Ability to align program design with strategic frameworks.
- Exceptional facilitation and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Google Suite/MS Office.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Willingness to travel to field offices and partner communities.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with talent development, adult education, or behavior change.
- Fluency in local dialects such as Runyankore, Rukiga, Luganda, or Lusoga.
- Experience in developing digital solutions.
- Ability to ride a motorbike for long distances in challenging terrains.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Project Management, Education, Design Thinking, Developmental Studies, Information Science, Public Administration, or related field.
- Project planning and management experience.
- Experience in international development, education technology, or talent development.
- Minimum of two years relevant working experience.
